Born in Saudi Arabia to Saudi and Egyptian parents, my multicultural upbringing informed my sense of culinary wonder from an early age. Growing up, my father loved to cook for the family, experimenting with recipes and ingredients he’d learned from his travels. His adventurous spirit ignited my love for food and flavor.
Traveling around the world with my husband only enriched my palate and desire to cook further. I explored and experimented with as many new cuisines and dishes as I could.
Perhaps nowhere impacted me more than Japan; the artistry, the skill, the meticulous precision that went into Japanese food affirmed my belief that beauty and great cooking should align in harmony.
It’s my philosophy that dining is a holistic experience. The little details matter. From the plating and the silverware to the flowers and of course the dishes themselves, every element is vital in creating an atmosphere that tantalizes the senses.
